A garden should feel like it has always been there, even on the day you finish it.
Foxhollow was started in 2017 by Emma Thorne, in a potting shed at the end of her grandmother's garden. Seven years on, we're a studio of three — Emma, Tom Whitlock (our landscape architect), and Ivy our planting specialist.
We only take on eight gardens each year. That's not an accident — it's how we ensure we actually know each site, its soil, its light, its microclimates, before we put a single line on paper.
Every design starts with a long walk around the garden in different weather, a sketchbook, and a lot of listening to the people who'll live there.
Four distinct offerings, each suited to a different kind of garden and a different stage of the conversation.
A complete design service from first sketch to finished planting. Suited to new gardens, renovations, or inherited spaces that need a long-term plan.
For existing gardens where the bones are right but the planting needs rethinking. A planting plan, supplied plants, and installation with our own team.
A single-visit consultation with a written follow-up. Ideal for clients who want expert input before making any commitment.
Ongoing, thoughtful care for the gardens we've designed. Four planned visits a year, plus staged interventions when your garden really needs us.
We're currently taking enquiries for projects beginning autumn 2026 onwards. We'll reply to you personally, within a week, without exception.
